Camp Update: Major Answer to Prayer!

Last week we posted a special appeal, asking people to pray for God’s provision for the completion of our camp dormitories. That appeal went out on Wednesday. And people began to pray.

How do I know this? Because of what happened on Friday.

First…a little background. Normally on Friday Itacyara and I would be at camp, working on various projects. However, we had been running almost nonstop for the previous three weeks, and we were both exhausted. On Thursday we decided not to go to camp, but rather to get some much-needed rest, and catch up on some overdue projects here at the house.

That’s why on Friday night I was here in my office, doing some reading after the rest of the family had turned in, when a message popped up on my screen. Some dear friends of ours told me they were going to contribute $2,500 to the dorm project. After thanking them, I got up and told Itacyara. We both rejoiced at the news, then I went back to my reading.

No sooner had I settled back into my hammock with my Kindle (doesn’t everybody have a hammock in their office?) when another message popped up on the screen – this time from a supporting church – saying that another $1,000 was on the way. Back I went to the bedroom to tell Itacyara, after which we had a little time of thanksgiving.

If you watched the video, you remember that we were praying for between $3,000 and $4,000. God provided us with $3,500 – which is EXACTLY between $3,000 and $4,000.

So this Friday, Lord willing, we are headed to camp, rejoicing in God’s provision, grateful for the friends and supporters He has brought into our lives, and excited about the future of the ministry.
