Snapshots of Missionary Life: It’s Been Four Months…

The last one of these we did was in December (I’m so ashamed), so we have some catching up to do. So here, without further ado, are some pictures that have been featured on our Instagram account over the past four months.

Itacyara brought a mini-series on teaching methods to the Sunday School teachers at the Boas Novas church.
These are the Baptist Mid Missions missionaries that gathered at our annual conference in São Paulo. A more full report on this meeting and some of its ramifications is forthcoming.
At a recent retreat organized by one of our local churches, I was invited to sit on a panel dealing with mental health.
It was great having friend and colleague Dan Ruley spend some time with us here in Maranhão. A highlight of his stay was this time of fellowship with our local pastors.
Our Bible Institute is in full swing. This semester I am teaching Church History.

It was a special privilege to be able to host three young Brazilian ladies who are missionaries in Bolivia.
I had the unique experience of preaching in English with a Portuguese translator recently. It was a trick to temporarily “forget” that I speak Portuguese. If you’re interested, you can see the video here.

A sneak preview of some of the work being done at camp.
While we bought the truck specifically for camp, it is useful for other things as well. Here we carried some construction materials to one of our local church plants.
