One of the best articles I’ve read in a while on language acquisition for missionaries. It contains some real practical advice for those just getting started (or contemplating) the process.

Warning: if you’ve been “baptized in the Jordan River”, this guy has some thoughts. And I agree with them. And they apply to former presidents of Brazil as well.

Speaking of the Holy Land, here’s a very interesting article on the people who produced and preserved the Dead Sea Scrolls.
