Linkin’ Log: Christian Nationalism, Cancel Culture, Twitter Storms, Jail Birds, and more…
Here are some of the interesting things that have crossed my desktop in the last week.
Current reading:
On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness by Andrew Peterson.
From Socrates to Sartre by T.Z. Lavine
The Existence and Attributes of God by Stephen Charnock
As Christians, it might be a good idea to prepare for when “cancel culture” comes for each of us. This Twitter thread led me to this story and this article, all of which are, I think, instructive on the subject.
A helpful post on the Christian’s daily battle with sin.
And speaking of battles, there is an ongoing one in the public square over the term “Christian Nationalism”. I found this piece to be very clarifying on the subject.
In case you missed it, there was somewhat of a Twitter storm kicked up by yours truly this week over the link between leftist politics and apostasy. You can see the original thread here, and the article I referenced here.
Tim Challies with a scriptural principle I wish I had paid more attention to as a new church planter.
Deconstructiong a common trope among the deconstructors.
I was saddened to hear of the passing of historian David McCullough. If you have never read any of his books, read this one. His biography of John Adams was also great.
On the lighter side: trust the science?
My brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Kalyn, put out another excellent video last week. Enjoy, and be sure to subscribe to their channel.
