Camp Update: The Veranda Project is Complete!

For those of you who have been following this project, we are pleased to announce that the verandas on La Casa Madrid, our camp dormitory, have been completed – front and back! In case you missed some of our updates, the front veranda was completed rather quickly. The back veranda (which is for the girl’s side of the dorm) got off to a good start, but then bogged down as we waited, and waited…AND WAITED…for a delivery of lumber for the roof beams.

At long last the beams were delivered, and construction was finished within a week.

Here are a couple pictures:

The front of La Casa Madrid, showing Itacyara’s floral work already well underway.
The back veranda. It still needs a paint job, and Itacyara’s floral magic, but it is quite usable.

We are very pleased that these additions will be able to be put to use in next month’s Carnaval retreat.
