Camp Update: 2025 Teen Retreat

Earlier this month the Mount Zion Baptist Camp held its sixth annual teen retreat. It was a memorable event, not just for the normal reasons, but because it almost didn’t happen. The week before camp started registrations were so low that we came very close to canceling the event – which would have been a major disappointment, especially given the record attendance at our ladies retreat back in October.

However, as the date approached we decided to go ahead with the event, and we are very glad we did. The spiritual impact of the weekend made it all worthwhile. Here are some scenes from camp:

Team Red!
Team Blue!

Somehow Itacyara managed to be on both teams…

This year we were privileged to have Karis (left) visiting us from the US.
Her father, Pastor Ron, accompanied her, and really got into his job at the obstacle course.

Sliding…with style.

Our kitchen crew.
The highlight of the event…getting into the Word.
Pastor Michel brought challenging messages to our teens.

One of the most gratifying moments for me was an “afterglow” moment at the beach (something we do most years) where almost all of the kids gave testimony to something they learned from God’s Word during the retreat.

All of our campers and staff.
