Camp Update…but not THAT camp.

If you have been following our ministry since the beginning, you may remember that back in the early 2007 and 2008 I had the privilege of serving as the interim director of a camp in the state of Ceará, near the city of Iguatu. We had many great adventures there, and made some wonderful memories.

Back then the camp was mainly administered by our mission agency, while local pastors ran the various programs during the year. This was becoming more and more unsustainable at the time, and we worried about whether or not we would be able to successfully nationalize the work.

Fast-forward almost two decades, and the Iguatu Camp is now a fully functioning, thriving, Brazilian ministry. The local churches embraced the project, elected leadership, and have done an outstanding job of not just maintaining the work, but developing it far beyond what it was “back in the day”. And this comes at a time when similar ministries in different parts of Brazil are being downsized or closed altogether.

Recently the sent out this promotional video, and I thought I would share it with you.

We are absolutely thrilled at what God has done there, and look forward to many more years of ministry for the camp.
