Snapshots of Missionary Life: Planes, Trains, Automobiles…and Snakes

One of our main tasks this furlough is getting our son his driver’s license. We were able to get his learner’s permit last week, and he is doing a great job.

The other day a man from our sending church who is a retired railroad engineer took me around to some interesting railroad-related sites…including this museum in Plant City, where we found this great HO scale layout.

More pictures…

One of the most fascinating things we saw that day…an old steam engine that was found buried near a phosphate mine. It is now on display in Mulberry, FL.

This being Florida, we often see odd things…like this derelict Eastern European fighter jet parked in a lot in Plant City.

What ever you do, don’t cross this guy.

And finally, as promised…snakes found in my parents’ backyard.
