Best of Brazil: Sand Rail Adventure in Caracol, Piaui

My friend and colleague Tim Reiner recently posted some pictures to WhatsApp of a sand rail adventure he and some buddies took to the region of Caricol, in the state of Piaui. They were so amazing I asked him for permission to include them in a “Best of Brazil” post. He sent me so much material that it will actually take two posts.

First up, Tim and friends leave for Caracol, sand rails in tow.

The sand rails upon their arrival in Caricol. They towed them 230 kilometers (roughly 143 miles).

They wasted no time getting out on the trails, and the scenery is simply spectacular.

Stay tuned next week, when we’ll post details of their exploration of some caverns, including some ancient native artwork.
