While in the US last year, we were introduced to this beautiful song. At first we could not find it in Portuguese. Finally we found a version, and last night Itacyara sang it with the music team at the Boas Novas Baptist Church.
While a quartet at Fellowship Baptist were singing this song, young people at the Boas Novas Baptist Church in São Luís were offering up this praise (one of my favorites).
Wynton Marsalis is an internationally known American jazz trumpeter. Maestro Spok is a less-well-known, but no-less-virtuoso saxophonist. Together, they put on a mind-blowing performance here. The the music style is called Frevo, and it is native to the city of Recife, Brazil. Marsalis talks about this trip to Recife here.
