Open Bible Missions Trip, Part One: Vacation Bible School

Our second missions team from the US this year was from Open Bible Baptist Church in Orange City, FL. Pastor Youmans and nine other people came down to partner with our church, Good News Baptist Church, in a Vacation Bible School.

I’ve been involved in many such projects, where Americans and Brazilians work together on a specific ministry. But I can think of few examples where the cohesion between the two groups was so great on every level. Here are some pictures of the event:

The Open Bible team was active from the beginning, going from house to house inviting kids to VBS.
Smiles indicate a good time.
Together with Itacyara and a couple of our teens, I got to dust off my puppetry skills.
Someone is obviously happy to be at VBS.
Lining up to hear the Word of God.
Craft time!
There’s a phrase here in Brazil: everything ends in Pizza. Sometimes this is literally true.
