Guitar-Based Outreach
I hope you will briefly indulge me as I brag on one of the young men in our church. Francivaldo has been with our church-plant since the beginning. And even before that, he participated in another church plant in the community–one that eventually closed down. I have met few young people with a greater or equal burden for missions.
Francivaldo plays the guitar. And in our area, there is a big demand for people to give guitar lessons. So, Francivaldo has leveraged this–not for his own personal gain, but to bring young people in to our church.
Below is a picture of his current brood of budding virtuosos.
He has managed to bring four of these young people into the church, where two of them have made decisions for Christ. Two weeks ago one of his students provided the special music for our youth group.
If this isn’t an example of Tupinambá Discipleship, I don’t know what is.
I’m not saying that in a few years the music of our church will sound like this…
…but I can dream, can’t I?
