Best of Brazil: The HISGEOPAR Exhibit, Morretes, PR
Continuing our special “Best of Brazil” series featuring some of the fascinating things we saw while traveling earlier this year, today we come to one of the biggest surprises of our trip.
On the way to the city of Morretes, from whence we would eventually take a train ride (which will of course be featured in an upcoming post) we stopped at an exhibit which tells the “geological history” of the region. In no way was I prepared for what I saw.
The exhibit consists of a giant model train layout the contains moving tableaux showing the various geological and historical aspects of the region. And everything, including the model train, is hand made! No pre-made kits, no factory-produced elements.
Pictures would not do this justice, so here’s a video I took. Enjoy!
