The Simple Life

The week before our return to the US I went with Michael and Nathanael to take care of some business at the Mount Zion camp. After we resolved the issues at the camp, we had some time on our hands, so we decided to visit Francivaldo’s father Sr. Francisco, who lives in a rural community about an hour away.

These picture give an idea of how a large section of northeastern Brazilians lives. Observe the mud-stick house, the homemade…everything. As a city-dweller, what struck me most was the silence. It would take very little to convince me to move in next door to Sr. Francisco.
